Glendo State Park covers about 22,000 acres in Platte County, roughly 10,000 of land and 12,000 of water around Glendo Reservoir. It is open year-round for day use and camping. The park has 45 miles of multi-use, non-motorized trails for hiking and biking, and six boat ramps give seasonal access to the water. Day-use permits are required from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and camping permits from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Fee booths operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and at other times fees can be paid at canisters and kiosks at the park entrances. Reservation season runs May 15 through September 15, and Elkhorn Campground is reservable May 15 through July 15. The park page lists algal bloom advisories for the marina and Custer Cove Campground, and the North Platte River below the power plant (wetlands area) is closed to vehicles, bikes and foot traffic.
