Caesars Head State Park takes its name from a granite-gneiss outcrop atop the Blue Ridge Escarpment. The overlook has long views into North Carolina and Georgia, and in fall it hosts a well-known hawk watch. The park joins Jones Gap State Park in the roughly 17,000-acre Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. The four-mile round trip to the Raven Cliff Falls overlook is the most popular hike, with views of a 420-foot waterfall, and a longer route reaches a suspension bridge above the falls. Devil's Kitchen, a narrow rock passage, is another favorite. Trailside camping is available for hikers on the longer routes between the two parks.
