Table Rock State Park surrounds a towering granite mountain that dominates the scenic Highway 11 corridor. The 3,000-acre park lies on the Blue Ridge Escarpment and is one of the busiest mountain parks in the state. Trails lead up the mountain and connect to the long-distance Foothills Trail. The park has cabins, a campground and an old-fashioned swimming hole on one of its two lakes. A nature center, a general store and concessions serve visitors. Hiking, camping and lake swimming make it a good choice for a mountain weekend.
