Long Point juts like a peninsula into Chautauqua Lake and is one of the moraines left by a retreating glacier. The park and marina are a day-use area with thick stands of beech, maple, spruce, poplar and oak. Its boat launch is the most modern on Chautauqua Lake, which at 1,308 feet above sea level is one of the highest navigable bodies of water in North America. The lake holds bass, perch, pike and other fish, and anglers come especially for muskellunge.
