Mineral hot springs flow over colorful terraces along the Big Horn River at Thermopolis, about 1.8 million gallons every 24 hours at a constant 128 degrees Fahrenheit. The park's free bath house keeps its water at 104 degrees for therapeutic bathing. The park has 6.2 miles of accessible and hiking trails, a Volksmarch trail, fishing, a boat ramp, comfort stations and a reservable group picnic shelter. Bath house hours are Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 7 p.m. in summer, ending at 5:30 p.m. in winter, and it is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The grounds are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. year-round. This is a day-use park with no overnight camping.
