Thompson's Lake Campground is inside Thacher State Park, about four miles from the Helderberg Escarpment. It has 140 wooded campsites and combines a sandy beach, mixed hardwood and conifer forest, limestone outcroppings and open fields. Recreation includes a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a playing field, swing sets, carry-in boat access and canoe and kayak use. It is a popular camping and recreation area.
