Talimena State Park marks the Oklahoma entrance to the Talimena National Scenic Drive, a winding paved road through the Winding Stair Mountains known for spectacular spring and fall foliage. Hiking and backpacking trails through the Ouachita National Forest begin here. Dirt bikes and ATVs are permitted as an entry point to the national forest. The park has 10 RV sites with 30 amp electric and water and seven designated tent sites with pads, plus other areas suitable for tents.
