About this park

Cliffs of the Neuse State Park is in Wayne County, about 15 miles southeast of Goldsboro, on 90-foot bluffs above the Neuse River. Layers of sand, clay, seashells, shale and gravel color the face of the cliff. Longleaf pine restoration areas and creeks once used to make moonshine and cornmeal now offer quiet fishing. An 11-acre lake adds paddling and swimming opportunities.
