Davidsonville was once home to Arkansas's first post office and first courthouses. Little of the town remains above ground, and archeological excavations are still uncovering streets, foundations and artifacts. The park borders the Black River and a fishing lake, so fishing is a major draw, and jon boats are available to rent. The visitor center has a replica of an 1820s hunter-trapper flatboat, an audio tour and a display of historic finds. It is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March through November.
