About this park
Franny Reese State Park is a 251-acre Hudson River overlook with views of the river, the Mid-Hudson Bridge, Walkway Over the Hudson and the city of Poughkeepsie. A connecting trail links it to the Walkway Loop Trail and Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. Scenic Hudson protected the land in 2003 and continues to manage it. It is named for environmentalist Frances "Franny" Reese (1917-2003), and the park opened in 2009 after ownership passed to State Parks. It is open year-round, daily, dawn to dusk. Deer ticks are common, so check for ticks after a visit.
