Lovewell State Park sits in north-central Kansas near Webber, built around the 1,160-acre Lovewell Reservoir and offering a wider variety of day-use amenities than many Kansas lake parks. High bluffs along the south shore block much of the summer wind, helping calm the water compared to more exposed reservoirs elsewhere in the state. The Pioneer Day-use Area includes a playground, sand volleyball court, disc golf course, and horseshoe pits, while a seven-station archery range and two basketball courts add further variety near the marina. A historic limestone schoolhouse within the park hosts summer church services, giving Lovewell a small but genuine historical thread alongside its recreation facilities. A full-service marina offers boat slip rentals and serves meals from spring through early fall, and the Southwinds swimming beach provides both sun and shade for visitors. This unusually broad mix of day-use activities, beyond standard camping and fishing, makes Lovewell one of the more family-amenity-rich parks in the Kansas system.
