Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin is a barrier island on Florida's Gulf coast with about four miles of beaches, pine flatwoods and mangrove shoreline. It is one of the most visited parks in the state, and its mix of natural areas makes it popular for both relaxing and exploring. Visitors can swim, shell and sunbathe, walk nature trails and spot osprey nests in the pines. A ferry from the island provides access to Caladesi Island State Park, another beautiful barrier island reachable only by boat. Entry is $8 per vehicle. Arrive early on weekends and holidays to secure parking and a good spot on the beach.
