Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Spring Hill is famous for its underwater mermaid shows, a quirky roadside tradition that has entertained visitors since the middle of the 20th century. Performers swim in the clear spring water in front of an underwater theater. Beyond the shows, visitors can ride a riverboat down the Weeki Wachee River, paddle the river on their own and spend time at the park's water attractions. The clear, cool spring and lush riverbanks make it a memorable stop on Florida's Nature Coast. Admission is $13 per adult, including shows. Arrive early on summer days, when crowds are the largest.
