Queen Wilhelmina State Park sits atop Rich Mountain, the second highest peak in the Ouachita Mountains, and has some of the best views in the state from its renovated lodge. Visitors reach it by the Talimena National Scenic Byway. The site has a long history. The original lodge was built in the late 1800s as a Victorian resort named Wilhelmina Inn, for the young Queen of the Netherlands. The lodge, gift shop and restaurant are open year-round.
