Garner State Park lies on the cool, clear Frio River. Families enjoy swimming, dancing and hiking, and fun traditions bring people back time after time. Visitors can fish from shore without a license, and the park offers many miles of hiking trails and camping. Summer evenings bring dancing to jukebox tunes. When the park reaches capacity, it closes to day visitors, as early as 10 a.m., and reopens by 6 p.m. Closures are common on holidays and from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
