Lee State Park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935 to provide riverside recreation for Lee County residents. It sits on the Lynches River, a river partly protected from development. Kayaking and canoeing trips run through the hardwood floodplain forest, and fishing is available from the banks. An artesian pond lets children fish for catfish. Nature walks and educational programs highlight the area's wildlife, and an exhibit room and gift shop is on site. Equestrian facilities are also available.
