About this park

Pine Island State Park is one of the newest state parks in South Carolina, a small 27-acre property on Lake Murray with more than 4,000 feet of lake frontage near Columbia. It is a peaceful spot for picnicking under a grove of large cedars and for watching sunsets over the lake. Bald eagles and great blue herons are often seen. A marina offers 38 boat slips for long-term lease, and Sunset Hall, an event building, is under renovation. The park is open Thursday through Sunday.
