Sesquicentennial State Park, known locally as Sesqui, is a 1,400-acre green getaway in the Sandhills just minutes from downtown Columbia. It is one of 16 CCC-built state parks. Day visitors can rent kayaks and canoes, fish, walk two nature trails and ride a 6-mile bicycle loop. The park also has a dog park (permit required) and a splash pad with 26 sprayers, the only one in the state park system. There are 78 standard campsites with water and electric, nine of them full-service, plus primitive group areas.
