Petit Jean State Park is an Arkansas classic. The beauty and ancient geology of Petit Jean Mountain inspired the creation of Arkansas's first state park, and with it the whole state park system. Rustic log and stone facilities built by the Civilian Conservation Corps mirror the mountain's rugged character. The park has a lodge and gift shop that are open around the clock, overlooks, and demonstration areas. The visitor center is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
