Often called the Gem of the State Parks System, Colt State Park offers an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay, hiking trails, paved bike paths and open fields with historic stone walls. With 464 acres of lawns, four miles of paved pathways and one of the state's most spectacular shorelines, it is minutes from historic Bristol. The park is open year round, and its bike trails meet the East Bay Bike Path between Bristol and Providence. It has a boat ramp and open fields for kite flying and games, and winter snow brings cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. A construction project for a new park facility is under way.
