Kings Mountain State Park is a CCC-built Piedmont park next to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a major Revolutionary War site. It has miles of forested trails, two fishing lakes and a living-history farm. Hiking and equestrian trails are the main draw, and fall color is a highlight. Special events bring regular crowds. The campground has about 115 standard sites, hammock sites and 15 equestrian campsites with horse facilities, so riders can camp near the trails.
