Amsden Lakeside Use Area is a small, primitive-style park near Groton with a boat ramp, a beach and 11 non-electrical campsites. The sites offer privacy and access to the 235-acre lake. Anglers can fish from shore or by boat. The lake is known for muskie fishing because an old gravel pit lies below the surface, giving a depth of 27 feet, and the state-record muskellunge came from here. There is no water at the park, though vault toilets usually stay open all year. Other activities include paddling, swimming, stargazing and birdwatching.
