Golden Hill State Park was acquired by New York in 1962. The Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse, decommissioned by the Coast Guard in 1958, is part of the park and can be rented. It once housed keepers and assistant keepers and their families. The park offers camping, fishing, boating, shoreline hiking, picnicking and nature programs on Lake Ontario. The Friends of Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse share the site's history.
