West Pollock Recreation Area is named, like the town of Pollock, for pioneer lay minister R.Y. Pollock. Anglers enjoy it as a base for walleye and other fish on Lake Oahe, and a boat ramp gives access to the water. In the fall, hunters come for pheasant, grouse and waterfowl. The campground has 29 electrical campsites. It is about three miles southwest of Pollock off SD Highway 1804.
