About this park

Bedell Bridge State Historic Site preserves the location of a historic two-span covered bridge, once the second longest in the country, which was destroyed by wind in 1979. It had a Burr Truss design combining arch and kingpost elements. The 74-acre site on the Connecticut River has a Fish and Game boat launch, fishing, canoeing, picnic areas and walking trails. It is always open for recreation.
