Quail Creek State Park has some of the warmest waters in the state and a mild winter climate, which draws boaters and anglers year-round. The reservoir was finished in 1985 to supply irrigation and culinary water to the St. George area. Most of its water is diverted from the Virgin River and carried by a buried pipeline, and two dams form the reservoir.
