Forks of Cypress was a cotton plantation near Florence with a Greek Revival house completed in 1830, designed by William Nichols for James and Sally Moore Jackson. It was the only Greek Revival house in Alabama with a two-story colonnade of 24 Ionic columns encircling the entire house. The name refers to two nearby creeks that meet near the main house. Fire destroyed the main house in 1966. The site was listed on the Alabama Register in 1992 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The site is on private property and may not be accessible to visitors; no rentals. Call the Alabama Historical Commission before visiting.
