The Yellow Bay unit of Flathead Lake State Park is on the east shore of the lake, about 14 miles south of Bigfork, in the heart of the famous Montana sweet cherry orchards. It has a wide, gravelly beach and Yellow Bay Creek, with deep water off the shore. There are five first-come tent campsites with bear-resistant storage lockers. A boat launch, flush and vault toilets, grills, a picnic shelter, and seasonal water are provided, and facilities are ADA accessible. Visitors swim, boat, kayak, canoe, fish, water ski, bird watch, picnic, and photograph. The park lies within the Flathead Reservation, so tribal permits are required for recreation outside the park.
