About this park
Sandy Shore Recreation Area, five miles west of Watertown, is named for the sand beaches along the shoreline of clear Lake Kampeska. Two shorefront camping cabins have decks a few steps from the beach, with easy swimming access, and each cabin has a dock out front. The campground has 17 campsites and two camping cabins. Boating, fishing, paddleboarding and kayaking are popular, and biking and birdwatching are available.
