About this park

Bottle Creek is a National Historic Landmark and one of Alabama's most important prehistoric Native American sites, in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. It contains more than 18 mounds, the tallest about 52 feet. The site served as a major political and religious center for the Pensacola culture before European contact. It is state-owned and administered by the Alabama Historical Commission. There are no regular hours: seasonal guided tours are offered, and individual visits are discouraged because of wildlife risks and site protection. Call ahead.
