Quartz Mountain State Park cradles the shores of Lake Altus-Lugert in southwestern Oklahoma, a gateway to the Wichita Mountains, with activities from boating to bouldering. The Civilian Conservation Corps finished the park in 1937 as part of FDR's New Deal, one of the original seven Oklahoma state parks. A mid-century lodge and golf course followed in the 1950s. Visitors can stay in the lodge or cabins, camp and book event space.
