Indian Lake began as a shallow feeder lake for the Miami and Erie Canal in the 19th century and became a popular resort area once the canal era ended in Ohio. Today the lake offers a range of on-the-water recreation, including boating, fishing, jet skiing and swimming. Off the lake, visitors can camp and picnic. In winter the park offers ice fishing and snowmobiling, so it stays active through the colder months.
