Grafton Lakes State Park covers nearly 2,500 acres on a forested plateau between the Taconic and Hudson valleys, with six ponds. Long Pond has a large sandy beach popular in summer. Anglers go after rainbow and brown trout in Long, Second and Shaver ponds, pickerel, perch and bass in all ponds, and walleye in the Martin-Durham Reservoir. All ponds have launches for canoes, sailboats and rowboats. Trails serve hikers and, in winter, skiers.
