The historic Stone Hut was built as a warming hut in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The same crews cut some of the original ski trails on Mt. Mansfield. Once a home away from home for Vermont's ski pioneers, it is now a public lodging facility that sleeps 12, run through a partnership with the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation. The phone is shared with Smugglers' Notch State Park.
