Ridgway State Park sits beneath the jagged Sneffels Range in southwest Colorado, with a reservoir set among sagebrush hills and dramatic peaks. The views toward the San Juan Mountains and the town of Ouray are among the best of any state park in Colorado. The reservoir supports boating, fishing and swimming, and trails wind along the shoreline and through the surrounding hills. Camping is available year-round, which makes the park a rare option for winter visitors who want to enjoy the mountains in the cold months. A daily parks pass costs $10 per vehicle, and camping runs $18 to $36 per night. The park is a good base for exploring Ouray, Telluride and the San Juan Skyway.
