Lake Barkley State Resort Park occupies 3,600 acres of rolling hills on the eastern shore of Lake Barkley, one of the largest man-made lakes in the country, just west of Cadiz in Trigg County. The park sits at the eastern edge of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, giving visitors easy access to that much larger public land in addition to the park's own grounds. The park's lodge was designed by noted architect Edward Durell Stone, and its Windows on the Water Restaurant, a glass-walled, 250-seat dining room, offers panoramic lake views from every seat, earning a long-standing reputation for its home-style Western Kentucky cooking. A full 6,300-square-foot convention center supports weddings and group events, reflecting the park's role as a flagship destination within the Kentucky State Parks system. Golf, boating, fishing, and waterfront camping round out the park's offerings, along with relaxed, family-friendly hiking trails that hug the shoreline and wind through wooded terrain without steep or strenuous sections. Its combination of scale, architectural pedigree, and lake access has made Lake Barkley one of the most consistently popular resort parks in western Kentucky.
