Lewis and Clark State Park is on one of the upper bays of Lake Sakakawea. Miles of shoreline have views of towering buttes and rolling hills. The park holds a large native mixed-grass prairie and unusual geologic formations, and a self-guided nature trail introduces its natural communities. A swimming area and a day-use beach lie along the lake. Camping is available.
