Calvin Price State Forest covers more than 9,000 acres of mixed hardwoods and pine in eastern Pocahontas and Greenbrier counties. It is named for Calvin W. Price, a Marlinton newspaper editor who pushed for the area to be set aside as a state forest. The forest is open 24 hours a day and has no overnight accommodations. The phone is shared with Watoga State Park.
