High Bridge Trail State Park is 32.2 miles long and ideal for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. The trail follows an old rail bed and is wide, level and generally flat, with a finely crushed limestone surface. The park's centerpiece is the majestic High Bridge, more than 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River. It is the longest recreational bridge in Virginia and among the longest in the United States, and a Virginia Historic Landmark.
