Crater of Diamonds is described as the only place in the world where the public can search for natural diamonds in their original volcanic source. Visitors dig and sift in a 37-acre plowed field, the eroded surface of a volcanic crater, and keep any rock, mineral or gemstone they find. You can bring your own tools, within the park's rules. The park also has a campground, a Diamond Discovery Center with rentals, and the seasonal Diamond Springs Water Park (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, call for days and hours). The park facilities are open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
