About this park
Ainsworth sits in the Columbia River Gorge at the eastern end of the Historic Columbia River Highway and marks the eastern end of the Waterfall Corridor that begins at Crown Point and includes Multnomah Falls, Latourell, Bridal Veil, Wahkeena and Horsetail Falls. The seasonal campground has 40 full-hookup sites with 50 amp power, six walk-in tent sites, a hiker/biker camp area without reservations, flush toilets and firewood for sale. Reservations open up to six months ahead. Roadside parking a half mile west of the campground gives access to the Gorge 400 Trail and the Horsetail Falls trail. The park is near Interstate 84 and a busy rail line, and a dump station is available for a fee.
