About this park

This site preserves the remains of an extensive northern plantation built by Royal Governor John Wentworth just before the American Revolution; his mansion burned in 1820. Systematic archaeological work has pieced together artifacts that show daily life and work methods of the privileged class of the period. The park is always open for recreation, though staffing and facilities are typically unavailable in the off-season. Pets are prohibited and drone use is restricted.
