Malabar Farm sits in Pleasant Valley in Richland County and represents the diversity of the glaciated Appalachian Plateau. It was the dream of Pulitzer Prize-winning author and conservationist Louis Bromfield, who envisioned sustainable agriculture, and it has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973. Visitors can tour the Big House, walk nature trails and drive atop Mt. Jeez. It is a working farm, so guests can meet a variety of farm animals and browse the farm's offerings. Activities here echo those of Bromfield's time, making it as much a living history stop as a park.
