Bear River State Park is a 324-acre day-use park beside the Bear River in Evanston. Small herds of bison and elk live in the park, and several miles of paved and packed-gravel trails run through it. The Visitor Center has taxidermy displays of Wyoming wildlife, live native snakes, and state tourism information for travelers. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset year-round. The Visitor Center keeps shorter hours in winter (Oct 16 - Apr 15). Park restrooms and water are turned off after October 16, though the Bison Shelter and Visitor Center restrooms stay open, and the dump station stays open until freezing temperatures. This is a day-use park with no overnight camping.
