Lake Cascade State Park surrounds a large reservoir in the mountains of west-central Idaho, with sweeping views of forested slopes and open valley. Campgrounds line much of the shoreline, making it a favorite base for summer vacations. The lake is famous for its yellow perch and trout fishing, and it also draws boaters, swimmers and paddlers. Ice fishing takes over in winter, and the surrounding area offers plenty of trails and scenic drives. Entry costs $5 per vehicle, and camping is $15 to $50 per night. Its town of Cascade offers supplies and services close to the park.
