Woods Island became Vermont's forty-fifth state park in 1985. It is one mile long and a quarter-mile wide and covers 125 acres, in Lake Champlain's inland sea alongside Burton and Knight Islands. The island has many kinds of plants, including some rare or threatened in Vermont. Season runs from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The phone is the Vermont State Parks central office.
