Belmont Lake State Park is a 463-acre day-use park in West Babylon, split by Carlls Creek and Belmont Lake. It was farmland for August Belmont's equestrian activities and became a park in 1926. In 1935 Robert Moses made it the regional headquarters for Long Island state parks, and it still houses permit sales, administration and the State Park Police. The park is mainly used for picnicking, walking and fishing around the lake.
