Kodachrome Basin State Park has 67 monolithic stone spires, called sedimentary pipes, that stand against multi-hued sandstone layers revealing 180 million years of geologic time. A National Geographic Society expedition named the area Kodachrome, after the color film, in 1948. The basin campground offers standard sites without hookups.
