Cape Arago is a scenic headland jutting into the Pacific at the end of Cape Arago Highway, about 15 miles southwest of Coos Bay. The road out of Coos Bay goes no further, so it is the end of the road and a starting point for south coast exploring. The cape was long used by Native Americans and was first sighted by Europeans on one of Sir Francis Drake's expeditions in the late 1500s. The park restroom is closed, so use the restroom in the Sunset Bay day-use area.
