Reelfoot Lake State Park covers 280 non-contiguous acres around a natural wonder born from the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811 and 1812. The lake is the only large naturally occurring lake in Tennessee and is a haven for wildlife. Visitors can explore shoreline wetlands, watch American bald eagles and visit a museum, which is open year-round except Thanksgiving and Christmas and has free admission. Eagle tours run daily in January and February during the Reelfoot Eagle Festival. Cabins and camping are available.
